Personalized Training Plans for Competitive Cyclists

At 12:01 AM, Tuesday, January 2, 2018, we will unveil a new navigation menu item called “Wanna Race?” This dropdown menu will contain the following provocative articles:

  • How fit are you really?
  • Are you fast enough?
  • Have the right gear?
  • Living an athlete’s lifestyle?
  • What is your ideal training plan?

We thought it was time to share what we’ve learned about training, racing, gear, and an athlete’s lifestyle over the past eight years. This content should be relevant for men and women Masters age-group cyclists, from age 35 to age 99, who are ready to complete a century, finish a multi-day charity ride, or win a gold medal at their local Senior Olympics.

The first step will be for you to schedule a free one-on-one chat with me so that I can understand your cycling goals. Then, I’m going to recommend a training plan that will help you reach that goal.

These 4-week training plans incorporate high intensity interval training (HIIT) indoors on Tuesday and Thursday, strength workouts on Wednesday and Friday, and road workouts on Saturday and Sunday. The first week will be a base week, the second week will be a buildup week, the third week will be an overload week, and the fourth week will be a recovery week.

This pattern will be repeated in subsequent 4-week training plans, but they will get progressively more demanding until several weeks before your event. At that point, you will start tapering so that you will peak at just the right time.

Subscribe to the Introduction to Time Trial Racing Training Plan and your first 4-week training plan is free. This is a no-risk offer to introduce you to scientific, structured, and progressive training plans that will help you reach your cycling goals. If you’re undecided about a training plan, let’s chat about your cycling goals, your gear, your lifestyle, or whatever interests you about cycling, This free 60-minute chat can be face-to-face (if you live within reasonable driving distance of Ashburn, VA) or with one of several video teleconferencing applications, such as Facetime, Skype, or Zoom. (NOTE: This special introductory offer is not redeemable on race-specific subscription training plans.)

The new content and my coaching services will be available starting at 12:01 AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. See you soon!
