Selected as NSG’s January Athlete of the Month
FOUNDATION 2.4 REPORT (12/08 – 12/14)
HIGHLIGHTS: On Friday, December 12, I received an email from a public relations specialist from the National Senior Games Association (NSGA). Based on a post-games survey response of mine and reading this blog, they think my “story is inspiring” and would like to feature me as their 2026 January Athlete of the Month. They wanted to select someone like me who has an interesting story and “can share information about recumbents that will educate our readers.”
I, of course, agreed to be interviewed and have scheduled a 30-minute phone chat for Tuesday, December 16. I sent various photos from Des Moines and the video of my finish in the 10 kilometer time trial that I won in my acceptance email. The story’s publication date is mid-January.
All indoor cycling sessions were completed with my recumbent trike on a Kinetic by Kurt Road Machine smart trainer + Rouvy application. All three strength resistance workouts were completed.
