Still No Individual Time Trial Start Times Posted
SPECIALIZATION 1.1 TRAINING REPORT (07/14 – 07/20)
HIGHLIGHTS: All of the sports being competed at National Senior Games in Des Moines, IA, in less than a week. have had their starting times available for weeks now. Not the cycling events. The only information posted for months now has been that the first start time for each event will be 7:30 AM. The organizers sent an email yesterday titled “***Countdown to the 2025 National Senior Games…***” with the following note: “If the detailed competition schedule for your sport is not posted yet, it is coming soon. Sport-specific emails will be sent to athletes over the next few days.” Better late than never or the day before each event, I guess.
I have this nagging fear that one or both of my competitors will show up with a power-assist electric motor on their trike. Since all of the cycling events are run under U.S.A. Cycling rules, I checked to make sure that I would not have to compete with a motorized trike. Specifically, U.S.A. Cycling rules clearly state that trikes and e-bikes must be “staged separately and given a separate start time.” I’ll keep a copy of these rules in my gear bag just in case.
All indoor cycling sessions were completed with my recumbent trike on a Kinetic by Kurt Road Machine smart trainer + Rouvy application. One of two strength workouts was completed.
