2019 End-of-Season Summary

There was a single focus for my 10th year racing as a time trial specialist: podium finishes in as many local, state, and regional age-group time trials as possible.

I completed 14 age-group time trials: 11 in the MidAmerica Time Trial Series (MATTS) (three wins), two at the Wisconsin Senior Olympics (WSO) (won both), and the USA Cycling Wisconsin State Time Trial Championship (won). I had podium finishes in 13 of 14 races. As for the MATTS points championship, I finished in second place in my age-group and received a trophy, cash prize, and a jersey (for the team time trial victory) at the award ceremony in early November.

For the 2020 race season, I’m planning on competing in all 20 MATTS races, plus the two WSO time trials, for a total of 22 races, starting in January with three monthly indoor races. The first outdoor race is in early April.
