25,982 Steps Logged Over Two Days

PREPARATION 1.4 TRAINING REPORT (06/02 – 06/08)

HIGHLIGHTS: I normally log about 3,500 steps daily, but I logged just shy of 26,000 steps between Monday (12,504 steps) and Tuesday (13,478 steps). What was I doing to log such extraordinary numbers of steps? No, I wasn’t hiking the Appalachian Trail. I was moving into a new apartment. I was climbing stairs in the old house and walking across the length of the apartment’s underground parking to the elevator. I must have made a dozen trips, each time with a carload of small and medium shipping boxes. A moving company took care of the heavy furniture and dozens of bigger boxes. I moved all of our sensitive computer equipment and my cycling gear, especially my trike.

All indoor cycling sessions were completed with my recumbent trike on a Kinetic by Kurt Road Machine smart trainer + Rouvy application. One of two strength workouts was completed.

DETAILS:

  • Monday’s workout was cancelled. Logged 12,504 steps packing and moving household. The 45-minute strength routine, a mix of strength machines, free weights, and rope exercises, was cancelled.
  • Tuesday’s workout was cancelled. Logged 13,478 steps packing and moving household.
  • Wednesday’s Foundation Miles-“Potpourri” workout was 14.06 miles in 1:00:03. Average speed was 14.0 mph; maximum speed was 16.0 mph. Average power was 74 watts; maximum power was 113 watts.
  • Thursday’s Recovery-Endurance Blend workout was 14.23 miles in 1:01:03. Average speed was 14.0 mph; maximum speed was 15.9 mph. Average power was 73 watts; maximum power was 107 watts.
  • Friday’s Foundation Medley Intervals (8 x 5 minutes) workout was 16.52 miles in 1:07:03. Average speed was 14.8 mph; maximum speed was 16.8 mph. Average power was 83 watts; maximum power was 123 watts.
  • Saturday’s Foundation Miles Intervals (5 x 10/4 minutes) workout was 22.43 miles in 1:33:03. Average speed was 14.5 mph; maximum speed was 16.8 mph. Average power was 79 watts; maximum power was 129 watts.
  • Sunday’s Foundation Miles workout was 23.02 miles in 1:28:54. Average speed was 15.5 mph; maximum speed was 17.4 mph. Average power was 94 watts; maximum power was 148 watts.
