BASE 1 – WEEK 2 (12/07 – 12/13) TRAINING REPORT

HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this next phase of training for the 2021 race season is to increase the time in the saddle with endurance and speed workouts. All of the workouts were conducted indoors on a power trainer.

Wednesday’s L4 Sweetspot Steady Intervals was 20 minutes warmup at 94-187 watts; three repeats of 10 minute intervals at 206 watts, three minutes recovery at 105 watts; 35 minutes endurance at 152-187 watts. Average speed was 19.5 mph; maximum speed was 24.5 mph. Average power was 140 watts; maximum power was 216 watts.

Thursday’s L1 Aerobars Recovery Ride was 60 minutes at 117 watts. Average speed was 18.0 mph; maximum speed was 23.5 mph. Average power was 112 watts; maximum power was 142 watts.

Friday’s L2 Endurance Turtle Ride was one hour and 30 minutes at 117 watts. Average speed was 17.6 mph; maximum speed was 27.6 mph. Average power was 114 watts; maximum power was 163 watts.

Saturday’s L2 Road Varied Endurance workout was 60 minutes at 152-199 watts. Average speed was 18.5 mph; maximum speed was 28.2 mph. Average power was 131 watts; maximum power was 160 watts.

Sunday’s L2 Long Endurance Varied workout was 45 minutes at 152-199 watts. Average speed was 17.5 mph; maximum speed was 29.4 mph. Average power was 115 watts; maximum power was 151 watts.
