Doubling of Weekly Total Miles

FOUNDATION 5.1 TRAINING REPORT (04/01 – 04/07)

HIGHLIGHTS: Next week will wrap up the foundation portion of my training program. With 11 weeks to go before the record attempt, we’re focused on my fatigue and form numbers before the preparation phase starts immediately after my fifth “non-stop” rehearsal of five hours on Saturday, April 20. The following week begins a three-week block of preparation training with weekly cycling durations of 12 hours, 20 hours, and 10 hours.

I was able to complete a “normal” set of workouts this week, doubling my mileage total from last week’s abbreviated results. Not unexpectedly, my Chronic Training Load (CTL) dropped again, but only by two points from 58 to 56.

This week’s training included seven workouts on the trike and two strength workouts. All cycling sessions were completed indoors with my recumbent trike on a Kinetic by Kurt Road Machine smart trainer + Rouvy application.
