Injury Rehabilitation Report: Week 2
INJURY REHABILITATION REPORT: WEEK 2 (08/14 – 08/20)
The second meeting with my physical therapist (PT), on Monday, August 14th, showed significant progress. She reconsidered her preliminary diagnosis of a slight tear in my right meniscus and now thinks that I suffered a strained tendon in my knee and foot. The swelling (edema) in my right foot has decreased enough that I can ease my foot with a sock into my cycling shoe. She also approved a two minute daily increase for this week’s workout sessions.
My right thumb/hand range of motion has also improved significantly. However, after chatting with my coach, we’ve agreed to forego the last time trial of the season and focus on starting the year-long effort to set three world records in September 2024. We will restart my training program on Monday, August 30.
