Build 2 – Week 1 Training Report

BUILD 2 – WEEK 1 (05/10 – 05/16) TRAINING REPORT

HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this phase of training for the 2021 race season is to continue increasing the time in the saddle with endurance and speed workouts, plus weekly races. The workouts on Wednesday and Friday were conducted indoors on a direct-drive power trainer using the ZWIFT online applications. All the rest of this week’s workouts and Sunday’s race were conducted outdoors on local bike trails or local roads.

Tuesday’s L2 Endurance Ride was 29.47 miles completed in 1:55:12. Average speed was 15.4 mph; maximum speed was 20.8 mph. Average power was 147 watts; maximum power was 454 watts.

Wednesday’s L1 Active Recovery Aerobars workout was 60 minutes at 105-140 watts. Average speed was 18.5 mph; maximum speed was 23.7 mph. Average power was 115 watts; maximum power was 156 watts.

Thursday’s L2 Rolling Endurance Ride was 29.48 miles completed in 1:49:51. Average speed was 16.1 mph; maximum speed was 24.7 mph. Average power was 147 watts; maximum power was 436 watts.

Friday’s L1 Active Recovery Steady workout was 60 minutes at 105-140 watts. Average speed was 17.9 mph; maximum speed was 23.0 mph. Average power was 105 watts; maximum power was 126 watts.

Saturday’s L4/L6 Pre-Race Day Prep was 23.13 miles completed in 1:27:33. Average speed was 15.9 mph; maximum speed was 22.3 mph. Average power was 140 watts; maximum power was 488 watts.

Sunday’s race was ABD Kaneville 16 KM Time Trial.
