New Power Pedals Received from Italy

PREPARATION 2.2 TRAINING REPORT (06/16 – 06/22)

HIGHLIGHTS: I have been a loyal customer of Garmin cycling products over the years. My Vivosmart 5 smart watch is a Garmin product. My Edge 530 cycling computer and Varia RTL515 rearward radar are Garmin products. My Index S2 smart scale is a Garmin product. My Vector 3S power pedals are a Garmin product. I use the Garmin Connect application to record my training and overall health data.

When my left power pedal broke some months ago, I held off replacing it because of the cost. Garmin has replaced the Vector 3 with a new model, the Rally RS100, for $650. The only source of Vector 3 pedals is eBay, with used pedals costing $590. Both Craig, my bike fitter, and Tracey, my cycling coach, highly recommended I check out an Italian company, Favero Industries, offering an alternative, yet fully compatible, power pedal to Garmin’s, the Assioma Uno. Amazon was charging $490 for the Uno. However, by ordering directly from Favero, my cost was $404 with free shipping. It only took five days for my order to arrive from Italy via FedEx. I’ll install the new pedals next week.

All indoor cycling sessions were completed with my recumbent trike on a Kinetic by Kurt Road Machine smart trainer + Rouvy application. Both strength workouts were cancelled.
