Peak – Week 2 Training Report

PEAK – WEEK 2  (07/06 – 07/12) TRAINING REPORT

HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this period is to taper off the volume of my workouts while maintaining the intensity to get ready for a pair of major races on the next two weekends. The weekday workouts were conducted indoors on a power trainer. The weekend workouts were conducted outdoors on a local bike trail.

Tuesday’s workout was L1 Active Recovery: 60 minutes at 106 watts. Average speed was 17.4 mph; maximum speed was 22.8 mph. Average power was 105 watts; maximum power was 137 watts.

Wednesday’s workout was L5 VO2max Intervals: 5 x three minutes at 244 watts, followed by three minutes at 85 watts. Average speed was 19.4 mph; maximum speed was 27.5 mph. Average power was 146 watts; maximum power was 253 watts.

Thursday’s workout was L1 Active Recovery Undulations: 6 x 5 minutes at 85 watts followed by 5 minutes at 117 watts. Average speed was 16.2 mph; maximum speed was 26.5 mph. Average power was 99 watts; maximum power was 189 watts.

Friday’s workout was L4 FTP Step Intervals: 4 x 5 minutes at 201 watts, 5 minutes at 220 watts, and 4 minutes recovery at 95 watts. Average speed was 19.7 mph; maximum speed was 26.1 mph. Average power was 152 watts; maximum power was 226 watts.

Saturday’s L1 Active Recovery Undulations ride was a 23.39 mile effort completed in 1:29:49. Average speed was 16.0 mph; maximum speed was 22.6 mph. Average power was 137 watts; maximum power was 609 watts.

Sunday’s L2 Longer Endurance ride was a 49.98 mile effort completed in 3:15:52. Average speed was 15.5 mph; maximum speed was 25.6 mph. Average power was 132 watts; maximum power was 446 watts.
