TRANSITION – WEEK 1 (10/12 – 10/18) TRAINING REPORT
HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this first of two weeks is recovery from the 2020 race season and transition to the start of training for the 2021 race season. The workouts on Friday and Sunday were conducted indoors on a power trainer. The workouts on Wednesday and Saturday were conducted outdoors on local bike trails.
Wednesday’s L1 Easy Recovery ride was a 31.46 mile effort completed in 2:01:34. Average speed was 15.6 mph; maximum speed was 21.8 mph. Average power was 138 watts; maximum power was 585 watts.
Friday’s L1 Light Fun Spin workout was 6 sets of 5 minutes at 85 watts, followed by 5 minutes at 117 watts. Average speed was 17.0 mph; maximum speed was 21.1 mph. Average power was 99 watts; maximum power was 130 watts.
Saturday’s L2 Longer TT Aerobars Ride was a 38.44 mile effort completed in 2:45:03. Average speed was 14.0 mph; maximum speed was 21.5 mph. Average power was 125 watts; maximum power was 593 watts.
Sunday’s L1 Active Recovery workout was 60 minutes at 106 watts. Average speed was 16.9 mph; maximum speed was 29.8 mph. Average power was 105 watts; maximum power was 139 watts.
