PEAK – WEEK 2 (06/14 – 06/20) TRAINING REPORT
HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this phase of training for the 2021 race season is to continue increasing the time in the saddle with muscular endurance, anaerobic endurance, and power workouts, plus weekly races. Workouts on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday were conducted outdoors on local bike trails or local roads. The workout on Friday was conducted indoors on a magnetic friction power trainer using the ZWIFT online applications.
Tuesday’s L4/5/6 Ramping Intervals + Endurance workout was 29.46 miles completed in 1:52:55. Average speed was 16.0 mph; maximum speed was 23.3 mph. Average power was 151 watts; maximum power was 469 watts.
Wednesday’s L2 Endurance Ride was 29.49 miles completed in 1:53:27. Average speed was 15.6 mph; maximum speed was 21.7 mph. Average power was 146 watts; maximum power was 435 watts.
Thursday’s L4/L6 Sustained Power with Surges + Endurance workout was 29.57 miles completed in 1:56:17. Average speed was 15.7 mph; maximum speed was 22.3 mph. Average power was 147 watts; maximum power was 483 watts.
Friday’s L1 Active Recovery workout was 60 minutes at 105-140 watts. Average speed was 18.6 mph; maximum speed was 23.5 mph. Average power was 116 watts; maximum power was 149 watts.
Saturday’s L4/L6 Pre-Race Day Prep was 32.31 miles completed in 2:00:41. Average speed was 16.1 mph; maximum speed was 24.5 mph. Average power was 155 watts; maximum power was 564 watts.
