Period 1 – Week 3 Training Report
PERIOD 1 – WEEK 3 (11/21 – 11/27) TRAINING REPORT
Back on July 20th, I reported that I had withdrawn from the World Time Trial Championship 6-Hour event in Borrego Springs, CA, after learning that one of my two competitors would be racing with a two-wheel recumbent, the Cruzbike Vendetta, which I could not compete against with my recumbent trike. The results have been posted and the two-wheel recumbent won, completing 109.2 miles (18.3 mph) in 05:58:55. The three-wheel recumbent completed 73.2 miles (12.7 mph) in 05:46:18. Quite a difference in total miles and average speed.
In other news, a local judge has granted my discovery petition ordering the scooter company to give me all of the identifying information on the individual that rented the scooter that hit me. The scooter company has 30 days to comply with this court order.
HIGHLIGHTS: Each week consists of four specific cycling sessions, two recovery cycling sessions, and two strength/yoga sessions. All cycling sessions were completed indoors with my recumbent trike on a smart trainer with the Zwift or Rouvy applications.
Tuesday’s Z3 2×12 Minute Intervals workout was 19.61 miles in 1:09:21. Average speed was 17.0; maximum speed was 24.6 mph. Average power was 95 watts; maximum power was 128 watts.
Wednesday’s Z1 Active Recovery Steady workout was 16.43 miles in 1:00:21. Average speed was 16.3 mph; maximum speed was 21.8 mph. Average power was 86 watts; maximum power was 113 watts.
Thursday’s Z2-Z3 Aerobic Build Up workout was 23.56 miles in 1:26:12. Average speed was 16.4 mph; maximum speed was 22.0 mph. Average power was 87 watts; maximum power was 183 watts.
Friday’s Z1 Active Recovery Varied workout was 16.52 miles in 1:00:13. Average speed was 16.5 mph; maximum speed was 23.6 mph. Average power was 84 watts; maximum power was 111 watts.
Saturday’s Z2 Extensive Endurance workout was 34.34 miles in 2:03:29. Average speed was 16.7 mph; maximum speed was 22.5 mph. Average power was 87 watts; maximum power was 163 watts.
Sunday’s Z2 Long Steady Road Ride workout was 16.94 miles in 1:02:28. Average speed was 16.3 mph; maximum speed was 25.4 mph. Average power was 85 watts; maximum power was 140 watts.
