PREPARATION WEEK (10/03 – 10/09) TRAINING REPORT

The new season is beginning. I discovered after moving into the new house that my bathroom scale has been lying to me for the past year. The floors in the new house are completely level, while the floors in the old apartment were not. For the past year, my weight was actually 20 pounds heavier than the scale was reporting. When I thought that I weighted 149 pounds, I actually weighed 169 pounds. This was consistent with my daily weights prior to my accident. I will have to recalculate all of my spreadsheet entries and generate a new weight chart for the past year.

HIGHLIGHTS: The goal for this training period is preparation for the new season after a week off the trike. Continuing a 20-minute yoga routine three times weekly aimed at strengthening my shoulders and lower back. The smart trainer workouts were conducted indoors with the Zwift or Rouvy applications.

Monday’s L1 Active Recovery Varied Easy Spin workout was 14.40 miles in 1:00:31. Average speed was 14.8 mph; maximum speed was 21.8 mph. Average power was 99 watts; maximum power was 120 watts.

Tuesday’s L4 FTP Rising Intervals workout was 27.41 miles in 1:43:41. Average speed was 15.9 mph; maximum speed was 21.8 mph. Average power was 84 watts; maximum power was 176 watts.

Wednesday’s L1 Active Recovery Easy Varied workout was 14.19 miles in 1:00:51. Average speed was 14.0 mph; maximum speed was 19.9 mph. Average power was 92 watts; maximum power was 117 watts.

Thursday’s L2 High Cadence Endurance Intervals workout was 14.11 miles in 1:00:12. Average speed was 14.1 mph; maximum speed was 20.8 mph. Average power was 91 watts; maximum power was 129 watts.

Saturday’s L2 Endurance Rolling Ride workout was 39.71 miles in 2:28:55. Average speed was 16.0 mph; maximum speed was 22.3 mph. Average power was 87 watts; maximum power was 216 watts.

Sunday’s L1 Recovery workout was 14.23 miles in 1:01:39. Average speed was 13.8 mph; maximum speed was 21.3 mph. Average power was 92 watts; maximum power was 119 watts.
