BUILD 2 – WEEK 4 (05/31 – 06/06) TRAINING REPORT
HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this phase of training for the 2021 race season is to continue increasing the time in the saddle with endurance and speed workouts, plus weekly races. Workouts on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday were conducted outdoors on local bike trails or local roads. Friday’s workout was conducted indoors on a direct-drive power trainer using the ZWIFT online applications.
Tuesday’s L2 Endurance workout was 23.28 miles completed in 1:30:31. Average speed was 15.5 mph; maximum speed was 22.0 mph. Average power was 145 watts; maximum power was 484 watts.
Wednesday’s L5 VO2Max Intervals workout was 37.52 miles completed in 2:28:44. Average speed was 15.2 mph; maximum speed was 23.0 mph. Average power was 143 watts; maximum power was 407 watts.
Thursday’s L2 Endurance workout was 30.45 miles completed in 1:59:39. Average speed was 15.3 mph; maximum speed was 21.8 mph. Average power was 143 watts; maximum power was 411 watts.
Friday’s L1 Active Recovery Steady workout was 60 minutes at 105-140 watts. Average speed was 18.6 mph; maximum speed was 23.6 mph. Average power was 115 watts; maximum power was 147 watts.
Saturday’s L4/L6 Pre-Race Day Prep was 30.15 miles completed in 1:54:05. Average speed was 15.9 mph; maximum speed was 22.0 mph. Average power was 145 watts; maximum power was 428 watts.
