PEAK – WEEK 1 (06/07 – 06/13) TRAINING REPORT

HIGHLIGHTS: The aim for this phase of training for the 2021 race season is to continue increasing the time in the saddle with muscular endurance, anaerobic endurance, and power workouts, plus weekly races. Workouts on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday were conducted outdoors on local bike trails or local roads. Workouts on Wednesday and Friday were conducted indoors on a magnetic friction power trainer using the ZWIFT online applications.

Tuesday’s L2 Endurance workout was 25.30 miles completed in 1:35:35. Average speed was 15.9 mph; maximum speed was 21.4 mph. Average power was 147 watts; maximum power was 385 watts.

Wednesday’s L1 Active Recovery workout was 60 minutes at 105-140 watts. Average speed was 18.6 mph; maximum speed was 23.5 mph. Average power was 116 watts; maximum power was 149 watts.

Thursday’s L2 Varied Endurance workout was 32.99 miles completed in 2:04:59. Average speed was 15.9 mph; maximum speed was 23.0 mph. Average power was 147 watts; maximum power was 457 watts.

Friday’s L1 Active Recovery workout was 60 minutes at 105-140 watts. Average speed was 18.7 mph; maximum speed was 23.6 mph. Average power was 116 watts; maximum power was 165 watts.

Saturday’s L4/L6 Pre-Race Day Prep was 30.18 miles completed in 1:57:57. Average speed was 15.7 mph; maximum speed was 23.0 mph. Average power was 144 watts; maximum power was 469 watts.
